Here are some photos that my husband Phil took of me and Miss Lily playing kids music at Kids Fest 2009 in Virginia Highlands.  Barnacle Bart, Fred the Monster, and Petey the Parrot made appearances.  We had a lot of fun!  Boy, was it a scorching hot day in Atlanta, GA.   Needless to say I got incredibly sunburned!

As some of you already know, my boss Lisa Flaxman, founder of  Musikids- as string of music schools for kids up to age 5, recently lost her battle to cancer.   She left behind her husband and three kids.  Needless to say, I wouldn’t be half the music educator I am now if it wasn’t for her.

Below is a link to a beautiful tribute for her.

I just started recording the last two songs that are going to be on my new album…I’m so excited!

Some of my favorite songs are:

“Petey the Peg-Leg Parrot”

“Tianna the Mermaid”

“Birthday Song”

I’ll be posting audio samples soon!

Many thanks to all of those who came to see me play at Little Shop of Stories.  The kids had an AWESOME time!  I had a little mosh pit in front of me of jumping up and down children.  Kids who didn’t even know each other started holding hands and dancing together.   It was a wonderful experience.

Also, my CDs are available for sale at Little Shop of Stories

Thank you Shenandoah, Rik, and Jory!  I love you guys!!!

Come and see me play music at Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, GA on November 20th (Terrific Thursday!) at 7:15pm after storytime.

See you soon!

Here’s a “short list” of some songs that I like to use in the classroom.   They are mostly transition songs to get kids from one activity to another activity.   Through my training at Musikids, Inc.  I got a lot of these songs, and they are mostly based on well-known tunes like “I’m a Little Teapot,” “Frere Jaques,” etc.

A good resource for teachers.

Here we all are singing the “Hokey Pokey” at Inman Park Cooperative Preschool’s Back-to-school night.  I’m rockin’ out on the guitar.  What a blast!
