Here are some photos that my husband Phil took of me and Miss Lily playing kids music at Kids Fest 2009 in Virginia Highlands. Barnacle Bart, Fred the Monster, and Petey the Parrot made appearances. We had a lot of fun! Boy, was it a scorching hot day in Atlanta, GA. Needless to say I got incredibly sunburned!

As some of you already know, my boss Lisa Flaxman, founder of Musikids- as string of music schools for kids up to age 5, recently lost her battle to cancer. She left behind her husband and three kids. Needless to say, I wouldn’t be half the music educator I am now if it wasn’t for her.
Below is a link to a beautiful tribute for her.

Here’s a “short list” of some songs that I like to use in the classroom. They are mostly transition songs to get kids from one activity to another activity. Through my training at Musikids, Inc. I got a lot of these songs, and they are mostly based on well-known tunes like “I’m a Little Teapot,” “Frere Jaques,” etc.
A good resource for teachers.
